I currently have the workflow settings configured to:
start when task is created and no when something is modified.
Issue: the work flow sends out the initial email notifications once a new item is created in my list. however, I want it so that when another field gets updated(ex: the follow up field in my list) only that particular email notification regarding that change gets sent out.
- I don't want the initial email that gets sent when I create a new item to be sent again when and update gets made.
I agree with Fernando's response above. Alternatively you could have a Yes/No field called "isInitialEmailSent" and have that default to "No". Use a "Run if" control to only send the Initial email when this field is set to "No". When your workflow runs for the first time and your initial email is sent then update the field to "Yes". This will stop the initial email sending if the workflow runs multiple times.
