Smartforms cannot send email but Workflow can

Hi Everyone,

 

I would like to know the reason / cause along with the solution for this issue.

 

K2 workflow is able to send emails to users but emails are not being sent from a Smartform.

 

The error encountered in the Smartform is "The remote name could not be resolved"

 

Please advise.

I believe the Smartforms rule to send an email will use SMTP and the environment library's "Mail Server" value.  Please check if this value is correct.


 


If you happen to also be using SMTP to send email (instead of EWS) for processes, you can confirm what the current working SMTP value is by running the ConnectionStringEditor.exe from "C:Program Files(x86)K2 blackpearlHost ServerBin".  Then modifying the "Mail Server" value from the environment library to match this if needed.
