How to Expand and Collapse node in Tree control

Hi,

 

In a tree control i want to expand the node if root level node is checked and similarly i want to collapse the node if root node is Unchecked. 

i tried using 'Expand Node' method, it is expanding Checked node but i am not able to collapse the node when i Unchecked it. can anyone help me on this.
