What are the programming languages used in Nintex?
Sounds like you should sign up for a trial and experience Nintex Forms and Nintex Workflow in:
1) SharePoint On Premises
2) SharePoint Online for Office 365
3) Cloud
There are 3 generations of Form Designer. All support expressions for variables and values. In addition, the Classic integrates with Java.
Nintex Workflow has it's own "language" that is based on Actions with various expressions appropriate for that Action.
Their online self-paced training is excellent.
