K2 Server Relocation

We are having number of workflows developed using K2.net 2003 and SharePoint Portal Server 2003. We have set up the K2 Server environment in the following manner

  • Server 1 - K2.net 2003 Server and SharePoint Portal 2003 Server
  • Server 2 - K2 and SharePoint Database Server

We want to relocate these servers (physically move these servers to a different location). When we are trying to do so the K2.net 2003 Service is not getting started.

Following are the differences between the two locations

  • Both locations are in different subnets

  • The IP addresses of the servers in the new location are different than the IP addresses in the old location

However we are no where using IP addresses to configure K2. Also when tried changing the IP addresses of the machines in the old location we were able to bring up the K2 service. Hence this does not seem to be an issue related to IP change.

It would be highly appreciated if we someone could let us know whether K2 internally uses any IP addresses or ports or any other specific network configuration which is causing this issue.

Thanks for your reply.

We have not changed the names of the servers. Only the IP addresses have changed and the subnet of the servers have changed.

We will also try starting the K2 server in console mode instead of starting it as a service as per your suggestion.

Any further suggestions or guidance on this will be highly appreciated.
