Does nintex syntax work in Salesforce Email template

I wrote a Salesforce Email template and we want to use the nintex syntax <<Account_Informal_Greeting>>. But upon running a test of the DocGen package, the end result email does not still says <<Account_Informal_Greeting>> instead of the contact's preferred name. Is there a work around or is Salesforce syntax my only option?

If you are using a Salesforce email template, you'd have to use Salesforce's syntax for emails. Nintex can generate the body of the email message and you can use our syntax, but you'd have to leverage a DDP template and convert it to an email.
