I am not sure of what exact version of Smartforms you are working with. There was a KB article for version 1.0.2 of SmartForms that talks about this issue and provides a workaround. I have seen this issue occur on other versions of K2 SmartForms so this is a good workaround to test even if you are not on that version 1.0.2.

If this does not solve your issue I would also try and see if an IIS reset will do the trick. If possible perhaps even a restart of the Blackpearl Server while you are at it.

Hi,
The error could be caused by another form being checked out. Is this form is being used as a sub-form of other form? Please try to check in all the forms.
If you save the form as a new form, then would it allow you to edit the form?
