For years I've been able to use "Log in History List" as a rudamentary troubleshooting aid to try and figure out which part of a workflow is breaking down when a workflow errors with ambiguous messages. So I'll perform some action, then log in the history list that i performed that action, then perform some other action then log in the history list that that action was performed, etc. Then when the workflow fails I can find the approximate location of the failure in the workflow.
Suddenly today this is not working. I've got something like 15 steps in the workflow with 15 log in history actions. The workflow is getting to step 14 before failing and I'm getting nothing in the history. In order to get this to work today I'm having to follow each "log in history" action with a "commit pending changes" action.
Did something change recently?
