Connecting to external database

Hi Guys,

We have a system in place where we store details of our employees in an external server ( in sql server data base).

I got to know that nintex has connectors for this. how can we configure it ? and  What is required form our side to get started ?

You can use the action named "Execute SQL" . Take a look at >>> Execute SQL

            You can Query from the SQL by using EXECUTE SQL WF Action of Nintex. Execute SQL

I have the exact scenario. On premise sharepoint 2013 has execute SQL action and Sharepoint online needs the Database internet accessible. What configurations need to be done. Can you guide here?
