Symptoms
I have a process which applies metadata to a document via K2 workflow. I am using the 'Upload Document' event to upload the document to the destination library and then apply the metadata based on the content type in that destination library. I have date/time fields in the library. When I attempt to transfer that data to the document date/time field(s), I get the following error: Service: [Service Instance Name] Service Guid: 3034e522-dea4-4acb-9988-49d16abdff73 Severity: Error “Error Message: Invalid date/time value. A date/time field contains invalid data. Please check the value and try again.”
Diagnoses
Using Data Event to capture the value at runtime, we were able to see that one of fields was actually a 'calculated' date field which resolved to 01/01/0001 which SharePoint would not accept.
Resolution
By making sure that the data being passed to the Date/Time field has Date/Time format resolved the issue.
