Dears

I would like to share this info when installing k2 black pearl on a 64 bit operating system(2008 server).

when installing k2 make sure you have big space on your machine (40G) or more. this is due to a folder called WINSXS which consumes most of the space after installing the prerequisites of k2.

vsp1cln.exe and compcln.exe are the files used to reduce it's size; but i coluldnt locate them on 2008 server not on sp1 or sp2

The WinSXS folder basically stores dll changes on the system and should not be touched.  The VSP1cln.exe tool basically wipes out pre-SP1 dlls from the machine (assuming you are not going to uninstall SP1).

In most cases Microsoft does not recommend deleting files from this folder as this can cause unpredictable behavior when installing or uninstalling applications.

The problem is that i couldnt locate either VSP1cln.exe after installing SP1 Nor Compcln.exe after installing SP2

As far as I recall, that tool is only for Vista.
