Anyone know how to restrict documents that have been uploaded (.xls or .pdf, etc) to be view only? Currently when clicked on, local copies get produced on the users hard drive.

The only way you could do this is if the documents are stored externally to Promapp and added to Promapp as a linked document. You could then use the Document Management System where these are stored to view only or other settings the DMS offers.
Alternatively you could save all documents as a PDF to create a read only version, these would still be downloaded prior to opening.
Documents that are uploaded to Promapp need to be downloaded before viewing.
