Issue

The issue happens within set up manager after installing all of the K2 Blackpearl components and then further running the configuration analysis as well. The set up manager throws an error in which it is unable to create an Encryption key.

Symptoms

The error message appears within the config analysis and the install trace logs as well. The error is the following: Could not create key System Data.SQLClient.SQLException Target did not complete successfully, please recreate encryption key.

Troubleshooting Steps

Please do change the Compatibility Level on the K2 database from SQL Server 2016 (130) to SQL Server 2014 (120). After this run the configuration analysis all should be resolved from here. You can have a look at the following articles for more information on this as well.
