This article was created in response to a support issue logged with K2. The content may include typographical errors and may be revised at any time without notice. This article is not considered official documentation for K2 software and is provided "as is" with no warranties.

Objective

Activating a K2 For SharePoint site may fail because the Account that has the correct permissions in SharePoint and K2 is not being used. With Hybrid SharePoint environments this can occur fairly easily because the K2 Service Account sometimes does not have an account in SharePoint Online or AAD.

In this case, we need to work around the issue by logging into SharePoint with the correct SP admin account. But once we hit the K2 For SharePoint app, we need make sure we pass in the K2 Service Account credentials.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have access to the K2 Service Account as well as a SharePoint account that can navigate to the App catalog and open the K2 Blackpearl for SharePoint app.

How-to Steps

1. Navigate to the App Catalog and click on the K2 for SharePoint app in Site Contents.

2. You will be prompted for credentials. Sign in with the K2 Service Account.

This credential query is going to the K2 Server, and is not going to SharePoint Online

3. Run App Activations and choose the site you would like to activate. Activation should go through without issue.
