This article was created in response to a support issue logged with K2. The content may include typographical errors and may be revised at any time without notice. This article is not considered official documentation for K2 software and is provided "as is" with no warranties.

Issue

The K2 installation for K2 Five takes quite a while to complete. Upon completion when checking the K2 database you notice that no tables have been created here.

Symptoms

You can see the following errors within the trace logs from the installation appearing quite frequently:

Script execution exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Troubleshooting Steps

This can occur due to K2 looking for the SQL Shared Management Object Component dll. You can resolve this by uninstalling K2 and removing the K2 database. Once this had been done, reinstall the SQL Shared Management Object Component 2008 which can be found from the following article below:

https://support.timextender.com/hc/en-us/articles/210437663-Error-Could-not-load-file-or-assembly-Microsoft-SqlServer-ConnectionInfo-

(Other components versions will be upon the site as well if needed).

Once this has been done you should be able to see the K2 database with the tables intact.
