Hi,

I've just recently been through this pain!

You need the following...

  1. Install the 64bit Oracle ODAC on your K2 server (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/windows/downloads/index-090165.html)
  2. Set the TNS_ADMIN environment variable to point to your TNSNAMES.ora file (which must contain your Oracle database connection)
  3. Find the SmartObject Services Tester app (SmartObject Service Tester.exe) in the "bin" directory.
  4. Click the Register Service Instance button and fill in the slightly non-intuitive dialog box. This is K2's actual connection to the Oracle database. You can have as many here as you like.

Good luck!

The Oracle Service Instance was introduced in blackpearl 4.6.1.  Note you would still need to follow the steps that David included to configure the Oracle Service Instance  once you install 4.6.1 or later.
