K2 VMCore on 8GB RAM Host PC

Can the K2 Core 6.1sit on a Virtual Machine (VMWARE/ VIRTUALBOX) where the Host computer is about 8GB RAM Capacity Please do let me know as soon as possible.

It can but performance may be unacceptable.  12GB allocated to the VM is good, 16GB is better.  Remember, this VM contains not just K2.  It also contains SQL Server, Exchange, SharePoint, and a bunch of other tools.  All of those things want memory.

I would reccomend at least 12GB minimum.


If you do not require Exange Server or CRM on the core6.1 if you stop the services it will run okay.

What of Core 8.1 Would it still have issues as well? I already have downloaded the Core 8.1 as well. Please Do let me know, especially when I have the Exchange Server and the CRM service Stopped...

I have just tested a Core 8.1 with 8GB for you.


It' not horrible to work with but it is a bit faster than the Core 6 with the same resources.
