I have this issue whenever I try to reconfigure my form on the start step as shown.
Please advice what could be possible solutions

This might be related to the form though. Have you tried creating a test form in the same category as your original form, then update your workflow to use the new test form? Close and reopen your workflow, and check if the same error is being thrown if you used the new test form.
