Error 64005 Failed to resolve: & Failed to translate name:

A new server was built W2k19 with a fresh install of 4.7 then an upgrade to 5.4. Repeated EventID 64005 are populating the Application section. I have looked at this but it is for 4.7 https://community.nintex.com/t5/How-To/Error-on-Identity-refresh-for-an-AD-Group/ta-p/124989

If you aren't using the Identity Service (an extra install step), then you sometimes have to clear out old AD references by running this SQL against the K2 database. I would also like to know if there is a better way than this, as it does not seem like a clean solution:
UPDATE [Identity].[Identity] SET [Resolved] = 0, [ContainersResolved] = 0 WHERE [Enabled] = 0
