Unable to action tasks in IE and Chrome with K2 4.7 (Original Ticket: 126543)

Symptoms


Customer wants users to be able to access, open, and redirect tasks using browsers other than IE, in 4.7. Customer was looking for this functionality in the new Management site, because K2 Workspace will not render correctly in Chrome.
 

Diagnoses


The new Management site is built on top of Smartforms, and is therefore supported on other browsers. The old Workspace is still only supported in IE. We are still working on replacing the remaining Workspace functionality with similar sites/pages.

The Task List located in the new K2 Management site is the equivalent of the old "Worklists" node in K2 Workspace Management Console. This list allows a user to search all worklist items (if they are a K2 server admin). They can then "Share" (delegate), "Redirect", or "Release" a worklist item. This Task List does not surface the ability to open and action worklist items.

 

Resolution

To open and action worklist items, a user should open their own worklist, as opposed to the Management Task List. This is accessed either by using the old Workspace (which will eventually be replaced with a site more similar to the new Management site), or the Worklist Control on a smartform, or accessing it from the Worklist icon in the K2 for SharePoint ribbon.
