Symptoms
When launching the K2 application for a List or Library, the following error was thrown:
"Version string portion was too short or too long."
Diagnoses
SmartObject logging indicates that the 'K2 Application' SmartObject from the App Catalog site was throwing this error upon execution of the 'Get K2 Application Settings' method. For the 'Application_Version' Return Property, it was returning 'regWiz' instead of a version number. Inspection of the hidden 'ListsK2 Settings' list for the app catalog showed an entry with the 'Application_Version' = 'regWiz' string.
Resolution
Set the 'Application_Version' to 4.4120.8.0 which is the version of the k2 for sharepoint app.
