Symptoms


After migrating a SharePoint site from one server to another, there are issues when attempting to activate the site.
 

Diagnoses


There are two major issues when attempting to activate migrated sites.

1) Group Providers with duplicate names.
2) Errors being thrown that a file is checked out.

 

Resolution

The full list of requirements for reregistering a SharePoint site after migration is:

1) Ensure that it does not have the same name as any other SharePoint site that has been connected to the K2 server. Otherwise, you will have errors regarding the Group Provider.
2) Go to https://[SharePoint Subsite URL]/K2Pages/ and ensure that all of the files are checked in. This otherwise causes an error that they cannot be changed.
