Using "Other value..." with Change State action

I am trying to use the "Other value..." option with a Change State action.  It fails because it tries to change the state to the name of the variable instead of the value.  I can't find any reference to how to use that option.  Can anyone shed some light on what this option does and how to use it?  Running Nintex 2013.

Hi,

There is no trick to using Other Value.
Select Other Value in the Change State action
Click the insert reference button to bring up the reference menu
Click the workflow variable tab
Select your variable.
Just make sure that the Variable is set with a valid state before its use.

Hi Simon.

Thank you for your reply.  That's exactly what I did, but it fails because it tries to go to a state with the name of the variable instead of the value stored in the variable.
