Ability to Utilize Previous Value Check to Conditionally Start a Workflow on Task List

This stems from a user post: https://community.nintex.com/t5/Nintex-for-SharePoint/Conditional-Start-on-Task-List-not-starting-wi...

"I am trying to start a workflow if a task has been checked or unchecked.  Using the conditional start, I have tried both scenarios below, but neither one starts the workflow.  Any idea why?

  1. Completed (previous value) not equals Completed (with Compare to field checked)
  2. % Complete (previous value) not equals % Complete (with Compare to field checked)"

This is either a bug with the way the Conditional Start behaves, or something that should be added for consideration in future releases to avoid the need to utilize additional columns as a workaround.
