Earning points on the community site

There are many ways you can earn points on the site. The first step is registering yourself on the site and, then pretty much anytime you contribute on the community site as a registered user, you earn points which go to your total points stash.

You can earn badges and points from almost any type of interaction you have on the site, as well as interacting with other community members. I've built out a list of the actions and badges below.

Identify Nintex Employees, and Nintex community champions

Role badges allow you to quickly and easily identify a Nintex employee, Nintex support engineers, and Nintex champions and experts. The badge appears next to the members name, and I've included a list of the different badges here.

If you see a blue ribbon next to someone's name, you know they belong to a select group of power community members who have a proven record of providing helpful insight and advice. You can trust what they tell you.

How do I see my points?

You're able to see how you're going by opening up your profile, and clicking on the rolling points box. You'll also be able to view the badges you have, as well as how far along you are to earning another badge.

How do I see other user's points?

Simple. Just hover over someone's name and you'll see their points. You can also view their profile and view their points and any badges they have earned.

Thanks Emily! That is so useful!

No worries!

How do you mark an item as a favorite?

Not applicable

Hey Dean, when you bookmark something, that equals a "favorite". You can bookmark content from the top right corner of a post or article.

I was curious about the "favorite" functionality as well Emily Billing – thanks for sharing.

Nintex Newbie

If you bookmark something it acts like a "Favorite" in Internet Explorer. It will be in your profile for you to be able to go back to when you want to view it.

and how does "Use the search bar to find interesting content" badge works?

I noticed it incomplete despite I do searches daily...

Nintex Newbie

If I understand from @FrankField correctly, the search badge is not working correctly. I know it does not work for me either.

Nintex Newbie

Patrick Abel did I answer your question correctly? If so, can you mark it correct?

Nintex Newbie

On the Use Search Bar, i have done this many times and still have yet to have that awarded. is there something special in doing this one.

Nintex Newbie

Yeah I noticed I do not get any points for that either and I have searched many, many times over the past year.

Nintex Newbie

Ah I see how this works now!

Nintex Newbie

‌, can you share this with everyone so they will know how to make it work as well.

That particular mission is not functioning properly, and I can't get Jive to fix it to tell the truth. The problem is they can't repeat the problem, so they aren't able to see what to fix.  I can raise it again.  Apologies for the long delay in replying, I didn't catch the reply on this older thread.

Nintex Newbie

I was starting to think I was crazy! I finally gave up thinking I was doing something wrong.

Nintex Newbie

Looks like "Sharing Is Caring" is also not working.

Not applicable

FWIW, I've started a case with Jive regarding these and two other missions. I remembered that about 7mos ago I had a case open about four missions not working. It required a re-start of our gamification instance. That still didn't solve the problem and they coudln't reproduce the issues.  What's weird is we just had my console upgraded in December. And we did that re-start on 1/2/17, so I don't know if old bugs were re-introduced then or what. BUT... I'll let you know what I learn.  It can't hurt.  Otherwise, I'll probably go remove those missions from visibility.

Best!

so I would add one another - "Make 3 binary uploads"

at first, from it's description it's not clear what is being considered 'binary upload' and whether there any restrictions where it should be uploaded to count.

however, I did some uploads last year but haven't seen any progress on the badge.

Nintex Newbie

Hi,

How to "Mark 5 items as favorites this month". i.e how can i mark something as favourite ?

Not applicable

Sorry for the confusion ‌, that means to bookmark it, which is under the "actions" tab in the upper-right corner of most content.

Thanks ,

Please show some light on this too . "Update your status" ...

Sure. If you click “news” you’ll see a place in the resulting page where you can type a social media-like status. Maybe something you posted you want to share a link to. Or maybe you want to post a link to your question. People who “follow” you will see it in their newsfeed.

Thanks.

And I'm trying to find about "Binary Upload " & " Share a Document ".

Not applicable

My pleasure!

Hint: If you use search, you can find stuff like “make the most” of community features.

I’d just send links but it sounds like you’re making progress in the community and I’d rather you kinda learn your way around. If you wind up getting help, you may just wind up one of the many people who love Connect.

I’ve only been community manager for 1.5 years. It’s amazing to me the actual care and concern people show one another in there.

Good luck! I’m off to bed, actually. But I often log on before to check email.

All the best!

Frank

If you click "actions" in the upper-right, you'll find a list of options like those. They vary by space. So, the same permissions in ‌ may not be available to you in, say, ‌...

Sure then , let me have a deep dive and post them here so as to help others.
