After performing an update to Nintex Workflow for SharePoint, is it necessary to perform a database update available in Nintex Management?

Yes, if you see Database Update Available link under the Database Setup page.
- Navigate to Central Admin>Nintex Workflow Management (OR Nintex Administration) >Database Setup
- In the message that there is a Database Update Available click the link to upgrade the database
