Is there an about screen somewhere that just tells me what the currently installed version of the K2 host server is?

The easiest way to tell is by looking in Add/Remove programs in the control panel. The current version numbers of the K2 components installed will be listed there.

Also checking the "show updates" check box on the add remove programs applet will reveal which update you are running as well.
