Change in From Address stopped sending emails (Task Notifications and Email Events)

Symptoms


We were using a dummy account (no exchange account) till now to send emails from K2 but we changed it to a legitimate account (A valid exchange account). Now, the emails stopped going through. The old account was ATAHelpStage@oig.hhs.gov (just a dummy account). The new account is Workflow_Notice_Stage@oig.hhs.gov (a legitimate exchange account).

1. Updated the String Table entry
2. Created a new Connection String (using Connection String Editor). Not sure if this is needed.
3. Restarted the K2 Blackpearl service
 

Diagnoses


Verified K2 Workspace environment field and string tables had correct addresses. Used K2 Email test utility that the connection string was working.
 

Resolution

Resolution: Then built a small test project with an email event and deployed it. The other workflow email events then worked correctly. The deployment of the test workflow probably reconnected the environment to the string table.
