Symptoms
We are trying to integrate Workflow Activities with forms, without using the worklist. We are able to integrate the actions with buttons and controls, but are having issues when it comes to building the Form URL with the Serial Number.
Diagnoses
This can be done by building the entire URL using expressions or data labels. There are issues with getting the Workflow State, but this can be worked around by using the Activity Name.
Resolution
We were able to do this with an Advanced SmartObject and the Activity Instance Destination Reporting SmartObject. The Serial Number is built from the Process Instance ID and the Activity Destination ID.
_1. We used the Folio to search for the Process and the Activity Instance Destination ID based on what was selected in the List View.
_2. Next, the URL needed to be built. We used the SSL Smartforms Runtime URL Environment Field for the base URL, added the State Name and then our serial number to create the URL.
_3. Once we had the URL created, we added a On List Item Double Click rule, to navigate to the URL we created.
We were then able to open a User Task without using the Worklist, but a list view.
