May mission - using panels & rules to show/hide fields

As a school, teachers are required to attend conferences and keep up with their education each year.  Prior to attending a conference or class, it needs to be approved.  In the past, teachers would fill out a paper form, email it to their manager who would approve or reject it and their manager would email it to another person for approval.  The process took a very long time so we created a Nintex form for them to use instead.

 

The form has some of the same fields, but they have to choose a type of event (Professional Development or Tuition).  Based on the event, there is a panel that will display with the appropriate fields.

If a different event is selected, a different panel will display and the other one will be hidden.

A rule was created to show/hide each panel based on the selection from the "Pre-Approval Type" field.

There is also a workflow connected to this that will email the appropriate people based on different statuses (not shown).
